Other

If you own a Nexus 7 or Nexus 10 tablet, Google has a little treat for you today.

An upgrade to the latest version of the Android operating system, version 4.4 KitKat, is now available.

You can visit your tablet's software update screen to check for the update.

Here's Sarah Mitroff of cNet telling us we can can expect from the new software.

What Else You Need To Know

  • Only Wi-Fi models will get the update. Google says that Nexus 7 devices with mobile data (3G/4G) will be getting the upgrade in the near future but declined to offer a date.
  • The KitKat upgrade will not include the “Google Experience Launcher,” which is so far a Nexus 5-only software feature.
