Way Below Expectations

I have had motorola phones in the past and they were awesome however this one fell way below what I was expecting. Im lucky if the battery lasts more than 18 hours which it should considering it takes like 6 hours+ just to charge. The instant talk only works in certain areas, you cant download anything and there isnt even an alarm clock.

I had been very happy with my Motorola phone until the battery started losing its charge within a day, even when the phone was turned off. The friendly but incompetent customer support kept me on the phone for an average of 40 minutes for the repeated calls trying to figure out the problem. After the phone had finally been sent to their technical service center, they returned it to me that the phone was irreperable "due to customer abuse." I have done nothing to that phone that could have caused any damage (unless using it to make phone calls counts as "customer abuse"), but got the same comment, without explanation after I had sent the phone in for a second time for reevaluation. It seems that Motorola is just trying to get out of fixing or replacing the phone free of charge under warranty. You'll be fine with a Motorola phone as long as it works. After that, you're on your own. Less

This is the updated version of the v60p, which I have. I would assume that it is built nearly identically to the v60p. As of today, I've had my v60p for 18 months, and it is still in great shape. The flip mechanism is still very strong, the reception is very good, the speakerphone is very clear, it is quite small yet still pretty ergonomic (fits faces well), and I have dropped it several times and said to myself, "well, it HAS to be broken this time," and it still works. I think this may be due to the fact that the phone's outer, interchangeable coverings are made of metal (stainless steel I guess). In other words, I feel like this thing is bomb-proof. I got it just before camera phones and downloadable ringtones were so popular, so I am dying to get a new one at the end of my two year contract, but I don't regret it because I don't think many other phones would still be functioning after the abuse I've inflicted upon it. This new version has the Get it Now features, so with this phone you're getting a durable handset with all the bells and whistles except a camera. High recommendation if you don't need or want a camera. Less

This is the best phone I've ever had ! Yes......I've had Palms & Blackberrys and just cancelled the required 'data pac'. I want a phone that makes calls....and this does it. I'm amazed at how many people get sucked into Smartphones........just to pay extra for services that get used less & less every month. Again, this is the best quality phone made....durable & very professional classic !

better then the rest

I tried the the LG 4750 and the Kyocera PTT phones and the Motorola seemed to be the most reliable by far had less dropped calls and the PTT worked way better. The phone seems way more durable then th LG. I wish it would download ring tones though

Constant Problems - Poor Dealer Service

Battery life is FAR below advertised - worse than any phone I have ever owned. Instant talk feature very unreliable. Phone is bulkier than this which I could live with if I was getting good battery life and reliable Instant Talk. Dealer has no loaner phones with the Instant Talk son when it breaks (often) there is no customer service.

Battery very poor

Purchased as an alternative to Nextel''s offering. Had 2 Motorola phones prior with good results, now I get less than 10 hrs standby and less than 1 hr talking before the battery goes dead. Also was advised by the verison dealer to limit the car charger time to less than 30 minutes or it would damage the battery.
