There are plenty much speedier sliders

from MobileBurn

I really have mixed feelings about the Z3. On one hand, it is a very cool looking slider. On the other, it is very difficult to live with. If you are the kind of person who hardly ever messages anyone and photo quality is not a concern, the Z3 might be the phone for you. Otherwise, take my advice and get another phone. There are plenty of sliders out there on the market and they are much speedier than the Z3 in the UI department.

I am all for speed and ease of use, especially when it comes to typing messages. I do not fancy wasting time waiting for a phone to catch up with my typ... Full review

This well-designed multimedia phone focuses on user satisfaction, though its keys are a bit sticky.

from PCWorld
If you're tired of carrying around a music player, a digital camera, and a cell phone, the Motorola Rizr Z3 can help you consolidate. This midnight-blue cell phone is the slider-style cousin of Motorola's popular Razr. But be forewarned: With the phone's plethora of features and the software required to run them, you'll need quick access to your manual for the first week or more... Full review

Metal and rubber all around and leaves the greatest impression

from GSMArena
The phone surely has great of look and feel. Its rubber and metal construction is so solid it makes you proud of it. But the lack of 3G, the strange SIM card solution and some other minor drawbacks makes the score even. So, we think that if RIZR is offered on a reasonable price, it might just become a market hit. If the price satisfies you and the offered pack suites your needs, don't hesitate and give Motorola RIZR Z3 a try... Full review

I received this phone from T-Mobile two-year full upgrade price. Loved the phone: easy to carry, camera has good quality, can upload/download music, applicable to blue-tooth, easy text messaging, speaker is loud enough, and much more. Oh on top of everything, this phone is the ONLY cell phone having a usable built-in flash light. The flash light was meant for the camera, yet I use it often as regular flash light (a flash light with a rechargable battery!). In all, I plan to keep this phone until my next available full upgrade phone. Less

I have this phone. After 6 months the aluminum round disc fell off. The remain aluminum face around the disc is sharp and gets caught on clothing easily. It might even cut you, mine did. Then the rest of the aluminum pulls out and breaks. Also, if you use an Instant Messenger, especially MS IM, expect them to lock up often. They sometimes lock up the phone and you need to remove the battery. The phone has several software bugs too. I hate that on occasion, it mysteriously deletes my alarms. The alarms may or may not work too. If they run into each other, expect what amounts to software fireworks, all the alarms will go off no matter their schedule. The MP3 player really is not that good, unless you like a tin can sound. You cannot easily organize your MP3 files. On my MP3 players, which I purchased after this hunk o'junk, I can create folders and place music in each, as categories. However, not this MP3 player, it will not see them. The battery really sucks too. It started out ok, but quickly it went down hill. No a charge does not last long. The bluetooth is nice, except if you have more than one device. You cannot give a name to each bluetooth item and it does not allow more than one to be used at a time. The micro processor on this phone is slow. I also do not like this keypad, it is to easy to punch multiple button. Sometimes, when I push the center target, it tries to open the internet, which is entirely a different button. The only features I like are the camera (it works surprisingly well and has decent tools) and it can be dropped often and stay together. This was my first Motorola phone and is my last. I can see why this company is struggling now. There are much better phones out there, shop around. Less

I am very rough on my phones and this went through a lot of drops/scratches, I have had it for about a year, now and the screen just stopped working. I don't know if it is because of the phone, or if i just drop it too much (I'm telling you I'm really bad) so if you are pretty careful with your phone (or even drop it 2-3 times a week) this phone will be great for you. I've had my phone for several months. The camera on this phone was excellent, and I generally had no problems with the sound quality or reception. Unfortunately, the central button (which is used for EVERYTHING) came unglued several times and was recently lost for good on a run. The warranty will not cover a replacement or repair, so I'm left to choose whether I want to deal with a sticky, broken, hard-to-use phone, improvise a DIY duct tape/aluminum fix, or shell out money for a brand new cell. I'm very disappointed in Motorola's lack of responsibility for a clear design flaw, and will not likely purchase another Motorola phone. Less

But if you want a phone that can take decent pictures like a phone with 5 megapixel, this isn't the phone for you. Cons: -Music player has poor UI -Phone reception isn't that great in buildings Pros: -Expandable mini micro memory card -Phone can hold up to 4 gb of memory -Can be charged from computer -A light-on feature that you can turn on while taking a picture -Slim, sleek, solid feel phone -No dust protection, somehow there's dust inside the screen of the phone (maybe that was my fault? don't know) -2 megapixel camera (not the greatest but does it job) Its been roughly two years since I've been using this phone and I read a lot of reviews saying this phone break after a few weeks. Its really insulting that those "people" blame the phone for not being durable. Well, guess what? Blame yourself that the phone isn't durable, its not a rock that you can drop and reuse. I have been using this phone for 2 years and its still in good condition with a bit of wear. So next time when you write a review saying the phone suck, it break too easily. Ask yourself how you treat the phone and is it suppose to be durable after all that. Every specific details about the phone is written down. If you think the hone 2 megapixel camera suck, then guess what! Its only 2 megapixel! Its not a SRL camera, its a damn phone! Less

I called the company and they refused to even cover it in the insurance or replace it, calling what was happening normal wear and tear.... after 3 months? Bottom line dont waste your money on this phone as you will be rolling the dice as to if it will stay together or not. Less

Pro: easy to use, versatile Con: battery life, no clock I've had this phone since September of 2007 and I do really like it. At first, I thought it was the coolest thing in the world, but after a while, it wasn't as cool. When I first got it, everything was really easy to figure out and the battery life was really good, but now, I have to recharge it every night, even if I don't use it, which is pretty lame. And ever since I got it, I never figured out how to get the clock to show up on the front screen. When taking pictures, the pictures look as thought they have bad quality on your phone, but once you transfer then to your computer, they are actually quite nice, even if it's only 2MP. The phone locks itself, which is quite useful since it won't call or do anything random while it's not being in use. Less

I'm glad I waited awhile to write this review, because when I first got this phone, I loved it (I should note that I'm already on my second one as the first one stopped working, and was covered under warranty). The music player is fun, and the camera takes good pictures (the flash is a helpful feature). But, as time goes on, this phone really wears out - and fast. The power/end call button stopped working altogether on my first one, and the select (circle) button fell off. The power button was a warranty issue, so I had to pay $10 (S&H) and got a new phone. Well, six months into the second one, I had the same issue w/ the select button. This is a well known defect with this phone, as I learned when I went into the T-Mobile store, but it is not covered under warranty. Then, about 3 months after that, the entire larger circle that contains the up/down/left/right arrows fell off. The phone is now very difficult to use as I must use my nail and press in one exact spot to navigate anywhere on the phone. I also have to mention in here that the lack of a date on the main screen is a huge downfall of this phone. There is also a ridiculous lag during texting and sometimes during navigating. I gave Motorola a try, but I'll definitely be switching brands after this. Less

The front scroll dial fell off then I had to cut pieces of the send and end buttons to keep from my face being cut by the metal when I was talking on it Then it started calling ppl at random, dropping every phone call I made, and receiving text messages over and over again. My husband who doesn't use his phone nearly as much as I do, screen is half blacked out and now his screen is cracking. I think this phone shouldn't even be given away for free. Less
