The "1-Minute" Review

The Motorola RAZR franchisee continues with the Razr VE20, also known as the Motorola Vegas. A competent clamshell, the Razr VE 20 offers a feature mix variant of its predecessors, providing another choice for users who enjoy the now iconic flip.

In addition to a complete entry level feature set that includes an alarm, stopwatch, calendar, world clock, et al., the Razr VE 20 also has a nice 2.0 MP camera with video and 4X zoom, 32MB of onboard memory expandable via microSD, a speakerphone and an address book with a 600 name capacity.

The main display boasts a 240 x 320 pixel resolution representing over 65K colors and an external screen that displays the time, battery and signal strength and message indicator.

The VE 20 also allows for voice commands for dialing, recording and speakerphone, 2.0 Bluetooth, 3.5 mm headphone jack and a WAP browser for internet access.

As with all the devices in the Razr line, the Motorola VE 20 offers a logical mix of basic and intermediate features that combine to provide a quality, useful user experience. For a fun everyday phone intended for calls and some texting, this latest Razr incarnation is a good pick.

Since then, of course, Motorola has unleashed a great flood of RAZRs onto the market, each an attempt at correcting one of myriad chromosomal deficiencies that plagued the original and its progeny.

With the VE20, the floundering handset maker more or less continues this MO, adding yet another hasty paint job to what is essentially the same tired old handset.

Phone froze and became totally disabled when I tried selected a different level of background brightness. They replaced the phone, and it happened again. They replaced the phone, and the girl at the store accidently selected this setting and it happened AGAIN. Motorola finally admitted there is a software issue, with no fix. No refund on the phone. The phone often shuts off on full battery, and battery life is very short. Less

Rather use a string and can then VE20

I got this phone in June of 09 and since then had to have the IC board changed 2x. The phone drops calls , no reception, poor battery life, low volume, and sometimes shuts off while using it, Had the Razr V3 an this phone should'nt even have the Razr name in it.

No volume!

My husband and I have owned 8 cell phones between the two of us. This one is the worst! The volume is poor. While sitting at a traffic light idling, I can't hear what the caller is saying. And that's at Maximum volume. Not to mention all the dropped calls! The phone shows a good signal and then b...More

And that's at Maximum volume. Not to mention all the dropped calls! The phone shows a good signal and then beep beep beep, call is lost. The volume problem continues with the Bluetooth. What's the point of having a cell phone on bluetooth if you have to stop your vehicle to talk to someone? This phone is definitely a loser! Less

Worst phone I've ever had!

This phone is terrible. The battery doesn't last long at all. The vibrate has completly stopped working. It just shuts itself off all the time. The Bluetooth doesn't work ever. The camera doesn't work sometimes. The buttons freeze up on the screen. It messes up when it's charging. It's just horrible and it is the worst phone ever. I've had phones that didn't cost half as much and worked a hundred times better. Don't get this phone it is a waste of money and time. Less

I hate it

Okay first off I would like to say that this phone sucks. Me and my husband both have this phone and we have had nothing but problems out of it. From time to time his bluetooth will mess up and he will not be able to bluetooth then he has to take his battery out and put it back in. My phone has never had problems with the bluetooth but when it comes to the vibrating option. Mine has complettely when out on it. Well I took it to the store where I got it at and there like there should be no problem. This is a great phone and we have had no problems out of it. I told them that well it is not a great phone. The battery does not last very long, the vibrate sucks on it and everything. For anyone that reads this i would not recommend getting this phone. Less

I should have come here first...

*After* ordering teh VE20 from Telus, I googled it, and came across this site. I give it a 3/10 as well... although the phone is nicely designed aesthetically, there's enough nit-picky things to annoy the most basic of users: 1) The battery lasts 3 days tops; that's with no in or out calls. 2) The batter cover easily slips out of place and comes loose. 3) The syncing software: after importing data to the utility, the first and last names were swapped. In fact, one has to enter first name as last name in the phone itself if you want to sort on last name... Additionally, the Motorola software is very buggy; e.g. it deletes records on your PC, but not the phone. There's more, but I realize most folks don't use the PC-to-phone syncing feature. 4) Just a design thing, but it's shiny in enough places to be constantly smeared with fingerprints. Less

I CAN'T STAND THIS PHONE!!

If you flip her open and start dailing a number it almost freezes. I've learned my lession, Samsung all the way for me. Less

This Phone is a waste

I got as a replacement for my KYOCERA KX444. It finally wore out. It never dropped a call and it had great reception. The VE20 drops calls, has bad reception and battery life is terrible.

All-Around Good Phone

The VE20 is an all-around good phone; not fancy, but for someone who doesn't text 24/7 and uses a cell phone to TALK to people this phone is great. I am a truck driver and it can get a little loud in the cab of the truck... not one person has complained about background noise. The camera and video capabilities are great (for a cell phone). It has a nice large outside screen. I don't like the buttons on the side of the phone. The cover for the battery pops off sometimes. Like I said the VE20 is an all-around good phone. Less
