My Phone

from Amazon
I love this phone. I have not had any problems and it works great. The sound levels are great. The quality is not a problem at all. I have purchased the software to go woth Motorola and that has made it easier to load all of my phone book. The program makes using my phone as easy as waling down the hall. It is a great phone for even my 11 yr old.

My first impression when I saw the phone in person was that I had never seen a more pale shade of gold. But of course that is a subjective issue. The real problem was that the battery would never charge more than one bar, and then go down; I had to send it back. Amazon promptly refunded the cost. I then purchased the same model in a different color from another AT&T authorized dealer. It was almost free with two year contract extension. (I want phone service anyway and there's no discount for not taking the phone.) The new one charges properly. The first one may have been a fluke. Motorola has fixed a couple problems that the old V3 models had. (I had five V3 models) 1) On the V3 phones, when I used blue tooth, the I.D. ringers would switch to default ringer. 2) The blue tooth would shut off and the phones would hang up when the phone was within 50 feet of an operating microwave or a 2.4 gigahertz wireless device. The V3xx is not bothered with these problems. One strange occurrence though, once when I changed batteries, the phone lost my pictures from the phone's internal memory. The factory sample pictures remained in the internal memory and the micro SD card memory was not effected. So far it hasn't done it again. Contrary to one other report, this phone can use a 2GB card. On some settings the camera displays pictures with a purplish cast compared to the old V3. Changing the setting seems to improve it. The phone's music player works well, but certain bass notes are distorted and I've tried different headsets and compared the same music and same headphones on a Sansa MP3 Player and it was not distorted. Once when connected to a Motorola S9 Wireless Stereo headset, the right channel and right controls went dead. I thought the headset had failed, but discovered that after removing the phone battery and then restarting the phone, the functions were restored. (Like rebooting a computer?) So far, another one-time occurrence. The phone section has performed wonderfully and as you could guess, I really like the Razr styling. Less

The phone has a crisp screen, and a high color contrast. Easy to read texts. High speed data. Not bad for a midline phone. If only it could work as it is on Verizon.

The Motorola RAZR is the first 3G (third generation) capable phone ever produced commercially, and has many features and capabilities exceeding that of later generation cell and smart phones. It's an order of magnitude faster in data handling than any other RAZR, and has superior media handling capability. It can play all CD-quality MP3s in stereo, broadcast in Bluetooth v. 2 in stereo, play 320x240 MP4s (similar to the iPhone from Apple) on a 2.2" 16-bit (65k color) screen, take pictures with a 1.3 Mp camera or full-motion video in real time, actually broadcast and receive video in real time (for two-way video!) over the network. Available Java apps includes thousands of games, business apps such as e-mail with GMail, surfing the internet with Opera, finding your locale with GPS locator, getting directions and restaurant reviews in real time from the Net, take directions verbally and respond (speak a name or phone number to dial, and it makes it so!). This gadget actually understands your voice!!! It's only slightly heavier than the sleakest of the V3s, at about 100 grams, but also holds 64MB of internal memory and carries a 2GB microSD transflash card to hold your stuff. The phone list can hold up to 1000 entries, your calendar and to do lists are virtually unlimited, and your bluetooth range goes up to about 30 feet. The mundane features include the old-fashioned keyboard, speakerphone for hands-free ops, mini-usb data connector/power source, a BZ60 battery for around 3 hours of talk time, a calculator, alarm clock, a polyphonic midi player, a brushed-metal finish that can take a lot of brutality, scratch-resistant clear polyimide screens, and allows the user to customize with covers and protectant skins prolifically manufactured worldwide. Customization and support are really extraordinary for the RAZRs. You can upload an array of thousands of programs and millions of media elements to the V3xx that will make it uniquely yours and o... This phone made me love the MOTORAZR even more....I went from V3 to V3xx and it is a great phone...quick connect...lots of space...sd card capability...and so much more...the sound quality through a headset is excellant. The only draw back of this phone is not enough short cuts to the stuff I use most. It does not let you change the options and main menu key on the home keys so you end up with two keys for main menu. I have gotten used to it so it doesn't even bother me anymore. I still love this phone after having it for 2 months which says a lot. Less

This has been a very reliable phone so far. I'm impressed by the sound clarity during conversations and it always has full reception where my old phone would drop calls. The menu is easy to navigate and the address book holds alot of information. I haven't had any problems with short battery life and it doesn't take long to charge. I did alot of research before deciding on this phone as it had all the features that I was most interested in and I haven't been dissapointed. Less

i have always wanted a razor but was afraid that they were easy to break so when they finally came out with a larger version i decided to jump on it. and i like it! it's cute and it's still light and i get pretty good service. my only complaint is the poor picture quality and that everytime i seem to drop it it breaks apart. it doesn't seem to have substantial damage but it is embarrassing. especially since i'm used to nextel very durable phones. so basically i recommend it as long as ur not a clutz like me. however, even though it has this flaw i still love being in the loop with my cool razor.
