Great screen and performance marred by an underwhelming battery

from TechRadar
At a starting price of Rs 13,499, the Moto G4 Plus is a compelling buy. It performs well, runs on stock android and has a superb display and fingerprint sensor. However, the mediocre battery life, the underwhelming camera and the all plastic build let it down... Full review

Excellent build, underwhelming performance

from GSMArena
All things considered, while not bad in any way, the Moto G4 Plus is likely destined to live in the shadow of its generic sibling. The camera and fingerprint upgrades it offers aren't really all that impressive. However, at a 25% price increase, they do harm the value aspect the Moto G family has come to be known for... A bargain, but one that will most likely let you down

from Reviewed
The original Moto G and its follow-up were small victories for consumers; they offered mid-range performance for rock-bottom prices. Moto G was good enough where it mattered, so much so that you could forget you were using a budget phone. The Moto G4 Plus wants to do the same, but it's a cheap phone that feels cheap, and it won't let you forget it.. Full review

The best mid-range value out there

from Android Community

Rounding out the Moto G4 Plus’ appealing list of attributes is its speedy character when editing photos, browsing the web, or moving from one app to the next. Yes, the Snapdragon 617 will bog down under heavy demand from certain games, but other than that the device is transparent in how it juggles the processing needs of your various running tasks. It helps that bloatware has been kept to a minimum, and fans of pure Android will be pleased to note that Motorola hasn’t added too many unnecessary bells or whistles to the G4 Plus OS. The Moto Display feature that helps you customi... Full review

An interesting budget proposition

from TechSpot
The Moto G4 Plus is more expensive than both the current Moto G4 and last year’s Moto G, but it does feature some unique upgrades and features. However, for all the good things this handset provides, I’m not convinced it’s worth the extra cash... Full review

Bigger and mostly better

from Engadget
The Moto G4 Plus finally brings a great camera into Motorola's budget lineup. It's decently fast for the price, though the build quality might not last years of use... Full review

Solid, wallet-friendly phone

from Tom's Guide
With the G4 Plus, Moto has once again delivered a solid phone for not a lot of money. While the stock G4 Plus' design and uncomfortable fingerprint sensor put a slight damper on this new generation, those negatives are easily outweighed by Lenovo's Moto Maker customization tools and a screen, a sharp rear camera and long battery life that deliver a great return on your investment... The Moto G4 Plus makes a strong case to go mid-range

from WhatsYourTech
The G4 Plus does have the benefit of wide availability amongst the carrers. Rogers, Telus, Koodo Mobile, Virgin Mobile, SaskTel and Wind are all selling it now. If you aren’t looking for all the bells and whistles, and are fine with a phone that looks fairly plain, the G4 Plus will serve you well. If you want or need more power, look elsewhere... Full review

A budget phone you'll actually want to own

from Digital Trends
Ultimately, the G4 Plus is emblematic of the 2016 budget smartphone: surprisingly short on compromises. The paradigm shift in mid-range phones that Motorola arguably kick-started with the 2013 Moto G continues with the G4 Plus, and it is a beautiful thing to behold. It’s becoming harder to reconcile the ungodly off-contract price of a new Galaxy or iPhone when some of the best the market has to offer starts at $200. Samsung and Apple should take note... Mobile Choice

A budget superstar.

from Mobile Choice
The Moto G Plus costs £229 (32GB) and ticks all the boxes for what you would need from your next handset- yes, it is a bit more rough and ready than sparkly and glamorous and it might be too big for some but it will be difficult to find a more capable device than this, for the price point... This photo is horrible it keeps shutting the. So now I have to. Wait now a month ago

Not very impressed

Nothing special compared to what's available on the market with those specs. Better off buying an iphone or Samsung.
