Critic consensus
“Motorola’s Moto E5 Play is aimed at minimalists looking for a smartphone for one or maybe two years. The low-resolution display, the poor viewing angles, and the poor battery life do little to make the E5 Play more appealing. On the plus side the cameras are decent, the battery is user-replaceable, and the design is elegant and modern considering its low price.”
“If your budget really won’t stretch above £100 then the E5 Play will work fine and run all the essential apps, but if you can spare a little more you could see a big upgrade.”
“The E5 Play retails for around $70 on Verizon Wireless and Boost Mobile, while Cricket subscribers can even get the phone for free. This puts the E5 Play in a rather non-competitive space, as most other $70 phones will be much more frustrating to deal with than the E5 Play in most ways. However, the flawed audio recording in videos has us pretty upset, especially when the Play runs well and gets the job done well enough in other categories.”
“For such a cheap price, the Moto E5 Play packs in all the basics you need for a solid smartphone experience.”

E5 Play cell phone is a solid unit for the price and for the light use I give it. Will upgrade some day in the future if something proves to be worth the investment. Xfinity service has been good so far. Everything went smoothly during transition from AT&T.
