LG continues to try and make good on its promise that 'Life's Good' with the introduction of the LG Genesis.
The Genesis smartphone offers up the Android 2.2 operating system with a 1GHZ snapdragon processor. Users can quickly launch their favorite applications or hit the Internet to share their latest thoughts, photos or videos on social networking sites such as Facebook or Twitter. The Android market offers access to thousands of free and paid applications from developers around the world.
The Genesis can also act as a Wi-Fi hotspot for up to five devices, allowing users to share Internet access with others. The phone is Wi-Fi-capable, as well, so users can connect to the Internet from local wireless networks while on the go. DLNA media sharing allows streaming photos, videos and music to and from other DLNA-enabled devices, such as home entertainment systems, game consoles and televisions. GPS capabilities unlock the potential of navigation applications.
It is preloaded with Google Talk, Gmail, Google Voice Actions and Google Maps. The browser supports HTML, XHMTL and WAP 2.0.
The phone offers a flip design with dual touch-screen displays. Users can choose a full QWERTY keyboard or a virtual keyboard that uses Swype technology, increasing texting speed using a continuous fingertip motion.
It is also equipped with a 5 megapixel still and video camera, offering enough flexibility that photos can be printed in good quality. It can also replace music players, offering MP3 music player capabilities. It is Bluetooth-enabled and has a MicroUSB port. There is 430MB of built-in memory, but it can be expanded up to 32GB with a micro SD/HC card.
The phone has 2.5 hours of talk time with 420 hours of standby time using the 1500 mAh battery.
With a 3.5-inch external touchscreen and a 3.2-inch internal touchscreen and weighing in at 6 ounces, it is larger than similarly equipped phones.
