Despite a few quirks, the LG Neon is a good simple messaging phone from AT&T.

A good simple messaging phone from AT&T
Is this thing really an LG? What a dog!
I have had problems with this phone from the beginning. It was purchased for my 11 year old son and he kept telling me it wouldn't let him make or receive calls. At first I didn't believe him, but after multiple calls to AT and T and LG customer service for network connectivity problems, having AT and T switch me to different cell towers in my area, and sending the thing back to LG for "repair," I'm still only able to connect to the network about 20 percent of the time! I have sent customer service and asked for a refund as I only purchased the phone 6 months ago. We'll see. BTW, the other problems with this phone include a one day battery life on a full charge, and the thing shuts itself off!Less
Like some others I read on this post, I bought this phone despite the warnings. A few problems from the get go, but seemed ok at first. Then, just like everyone else said, it began to turn off randomly. It became unreliable and I learnt to live without a phone, and I just left it at home. The last straw was when I just went on a small trip and needed a phone to coordinate with people. I would pull my phone out of my pocket after waiting for a call, and it was off. I gave up today and did a fido trade in and got $50 credit towards a new phone, minus the activation fee of $28, so $22 in the end, but I finally got a dependable phone. Heed the warnings, stay away from lg neon, and I would stay away from lg slide phones altogether personally. Just saying.Less
RUN. This is a piece of Junk
I have had this phone for one year and it has been trouble from the beginning. It started to lose reception about the 2nd month until I only had reception about 40% of the time. Lg repaired it and when I picked it up it had no reception in the fido store I was in. the third time I returned it it would not hook up to my blue tooth. LG is supposed to replace it with a new phone but it has been a month and I have not seen it yet. Not only would I not took this phone I am never getting another Lg phone again.Less
i dont recommend this phone.
ive had this phone for 6 months. and it was terrible! (i never dropped it either.) it kept freezing, turning off, and would take forever to load messages! the only good thing really about this phone was the picture quality. but after these 6 months i was trying to text someone, i slid the keyboard to text and the keyboard clips came off. so it was completely broken! so i wouldnt recommend this phone. now i have a blackberry lol!Less

not your ideal phone
i thought the LG neon was my ideal phone. Had everything i wanted tough screen and a qwerty key bored but i was so wrong. The only good thing about this phone is i droped it so many but it never really brakes. But the sad part is thats really the only good thing about this phone also there are way more cons then pro. i would not recoman this at all. After having this phone for almost 2 year i started to hate this phone within 10 months. If phones where cheaper i would totally buy a new one and if i had a chance to choose wheather or not to have the neon as my frist phone ever i would choose HELL F ING NO.Less
Not in love, but it's okay
This is my first phone and I wanted something that was simple and had a QWERTY keyboard. This phone fit the bill and the $0 with a plan sounded good. I have had a few bugs with it. It does lag while texting, sends the cursor up into the previous line of my message, sticks on some letters, capitalizes the "M" in "I'm" for no good reason and shuts off occasionally for no good reason. I also don't like that the paint on the buttons has started coming off and using the touch screen for phone call dialing is annoying. I barely make phone calls though, so I've never had any issues with it. Overall an average phone experience over the last year and a half. I'm looking forward to something that has less glitches, but I certainly don't hate this phone.Less
This phone sucks.
I hate this phone. It's super slow and every time I close the keyboard a little too hard it turns off! And I've never dropped it, EVER! It's still brand new. It's always lagging like crazy and when I type too clickly it messes up every thing i'm saying! So annoying!!! I rated 1 on 10 just because the design is alright.Less
after a few months my end button stopped working, all the buttons on the front came off, and now theres a HOLE in it! I hate it!!;(Less
worst phone ever!
-Freezes up at least once at week -Phone goes silent when making phone calls. The other person can hear me, but i can't hear anything on my end. -as of last week, my volume control on the ringtone is stuck in loudest position. I have no further control of the ring volume.Less
