Mobile Tech Review

A decent alternative to more expensive touch screen phones

from Mobile Tech Review
The T-Mobile Tap is a decent alternative to more expensive touch screen phones from Samsung and LG. It has many of the features found on higher end phones including a built-in aGPS, full HTML browser, Widget UI and an SDHC microSD card slot. If you don’t care about the camera quality or the hard-to-see screen in outdoor sunlight conditions, then the T-Mobile Tap can get you the goods at a cheaper price... Full review

A decent midrange touch-screen phone, If you can get past the limitations of the screen size

A solid set of multimedia features, but hindered by slow touch interface

from PCWorld
The inexpensive T-Mobile Tap, designed by Huawei, is a stylish touch phone targeted toward teens. While the Tap has a solid suite of communication and multimedia features, the slow interface and cramped touch keyboard keep it from being the ultimate messaging phone... Full review

I got this phone about 6 months ago. first week and I was already frustrated. messaging is horrible with and without t9 as the touch screen is ridiculously slow and unresponsive and the layout is clumsy at best. interface is not well planned out, I have to take and entire minute just to view a photo. camera quality is mediocre and it is difficult to send pictures via text or email. I got a data add-on thinking the browser would be all right but it is so slow. I spent an hour trying to login to my email only to quit and cancel the data. constantly dropped calls and it never rings loud enough so I usually miss calls. and don't get me started with the locking layout. after a couple of seconds of no screen activity, the phone locks, even if i am in the middle of a call so I always have to fiddle with the screen during calls which gets extremely annoying. I inserted a 8 gb memory card because the phone couldn't store all of my contacts and the minute I turned it back on, the phone crashed. I wiped my card clean, tried again and the phone was fine but it refuses to read my memory card so I can't store any music, messages or even all of my contacts. I currently rely on wifi and my iPod touch to make calls and send messages more than I do my phone. i would rate it negative 67 mouldy kiwis out of 389 down jackets but it only allows a 0. honestly a waste of time and money. Not a very impressive phone

It is a very frustrating phone to use. I cannot find out how to clear the screen of messages that I don't need like " please attach headset " . Will exchange for another phone.

Please whatever you do, do not I repeat do not purchase this phone. I'm on my second TAP phone and it is the worst in the world. I used to like it when I first purchased it, but give it a couple months and the phone continues to lock on you, and the screen freezes up!!! There's not much you can do with a frozen screen when all of it's functions are touch screen. It becomes so frustrating because you can not do anything since it is frozen, I used to be skeptical about reading reviews because of course there's good and bad reviews but trust me when I say you'll love it the first month but on the third your going to wish you read my review earlier. Garbage

Bought it because it was cheap, and now I'll have to replace it because it's worthless. It keeps locking (even if you set it not to), so when a call is coming through it rings (VERY quietly) twice then locks and stops ringing. I've missed nearly every call. Also, when I call to add time, it locks so I can't enter "1" or "2" to make selections, and if I press the button to unlock, it disconnects the call. This is absolute garbage. Less

don't buy this phone

This phone worked good for 2 months then started to run slow. I have only had it 6 months and the screen does not always work when i touch it. At lease once a week I have to rest it so it works right.

I've had this phone near 1 year. In my opinion, this phone is CRAP... I'm on my 4th phone in less than 1 year. Battery sucked, camera froze, screen froze and on and on... I can not get the company I deal with , Wind Mobile to let me get rid of this phone and pay the difference for another phone...I'm sure they know that it is a terrible product but they still sell them. They even did so at a hugh discount...geez, I wonder why that it...? Simply DO NOT buy it...I don't think that anybody should sell this phone if it gives this many problems... This is all just my opinion, but you do what you want...
