Critic consensus
“While the Huawei P40 Pro Plus is a great smartphone, it faces three challenges: There are no Google services, it is very expensive, and it is almost identical to the P40 Pro.”
“Its ceramic design is something easily likable for the added sturdiness and premium touch, the OLED screen is great, and the camera has so much to offer that we keep discovering new modes or ideas for photoshoots every day. And they usually are saved at top quality. Our point is, the P40 Pro+ will not disappoint, you just need to be ready to let go of Google.”
“The P40 Pro+'s cameras are sensational but unless you can live without Google - something that's harder than it first seems - then Huawei's latest is a non-starter.”
“The P40 Pro Plus is the pinnacle of what a Google-free life could look like - if the idea appeals to you. Its design, screen, and polish scream flagship, the camera is nothing short of game-changing - and it’s got stacks of storage and excellent battery life for good measure. The only thing we’re not wild on is its massive selfie camera cutout. If you’re happy sideloading Google services onboard, then you could end up with one of the best, if not the best smartphones around.”
