Matt_10157 saved my day - week - month, etc!!! His solution worked the very first try!! My Grand Max X Plus was suddenly DEAD - no light no nothing. I tried recharging. Nothing but sadness, knowing I could not afford a new phone anytime soon. I held down the power and the volume down buttons simultaneously and started counting....when I got to about one-thousand-fifteen it beeped! Lit up! then gave me a weird screen that said FTS or something like that, so I held the same buttons again and it started up normally! No loss of anything! I should add that just prior to this last ditch effort, I looked at the phone and told it to work in the name of Jesus before doing it. Thank you Matt_10157 and thank you Jesus!

I had this same problem. At first my phone would just show the android symbol and then shut off. Then it wouldn't show the android just blink red. I held the volume up and power key while on the charger plugged into my computer so I could hear if/when it was cutting on. I showed a screen saying to avoid pressing the two at the same time. I did a long press on the power key. It cut on and then back off (it's really dead) afterwards it started charging. (Displayed the empty battery sign). Yayy!

I've had my ZTE for about 2 months from now. Today my phone was saying that Instagram wasn't working well so I could either report it or close it. So I closed it and I tried to reopen it but it did the same thing. I went to one of my other apps and it did the same thing so I thought maybe resetting the phone would do the trick. It did not. After about 3 minutes the phone turned on but it was at a screen with writing that said something about resetting my phone. I tried to press reset phone (since it had a little button to do so) but that did not work at all. I keep trying to but nothing happens. PLEASE HELP!!!!!

I currently dropped my phone in water, it was fine at first other than vibrating non stop but then turned off for multiple minutes with the red light on it, I have a ZTE maven, android, and then it turned on by itself, and went to the recovery mode, it keeps turning off and on rapidly byes elf to the recovery screen, I do have enough time to more the controls to do a reset but when. I press the power button to select it doesn't to anything and the. Eventually turns off and on again and does the same thing. Also I can't take the battery out be uses if I do it says it'll damage the phone... What do I do help? Wait for it to die?

ZTE Max Z787. Mine shut down after putting new sim card in. For two days just that darn red light in upper right hand corner was showing. I plugged it in to charge but it made no difference, light was still on then I saw this on youtube and tried it. how simple and effective it was now my phone is back to normal and didn't lose any contacts or data HERES HOW: First push the volume button in up position while pushing on the power button at the same time (sounds weird I know) keep doing it for few seconds the phone will light up when it does let go of the POWER button only, but keep pushing in the upwards direction of the VOLUMN BUTTON. Keep doing for a few seconds until you see the android menu then follow the choices it gives you. You then use the volume button to scroll up and down the menu choices. I wasn't sure which one to tap on the first question to reinstate was already lit up so I tapped on that one when I did my phone vibrated a bit and started playing that familiar start up music. WOW it was back up with no loss of contacts or data. I'm a 68 year old lady if this was easy for me then it should be easy for anyone! lol To see it in action go here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q0QqL742krE

Started having the problem today where my touch screen feature putting in my password for example wouldn't work I could dim the screen by pressing the power button on and off but the touch screen wouldn't work when I hold the power button to turn the phone off but all it does is restart and same problem continues but after a while sometimes work I will try some of the suggestions provided in this thread and give my feedback if the problem continues

I have had my ZMAX act up a few times but I was always able to power off and on. Today it completely froze. It responds to the hard volume key and to dim the screen, but it would not give me the restart/off options on the screen. I just held the power button for 10 seconds and it vibrated and reboot itself. I tried hooking to the computer and it didn't help. good luck

Hi! Hopefully I'm not too late to help someone out. I had the same problem & I had been looking for my videos for months. 1)Go to your file manager app icon, it should look like a folder. 2) Once you open it, swipe left to the phone tab on the top menu bar which is to the immediate right of category. 3) Now you should see a list of different folders. Click on DCIM and select camera' and 4)scroll all the way to the very bottom passed all of the photos, you should begin to see a small purple triangle indicating videos. I hope that helps you out.

I found a possible solution. I thought I had this problem too. The videos aren't in the gallery, they are in the DCIM folder, either in the internal memory, or your external SD card. Hope this helps folks.

Rooting is the process of allowing users of smartphones, tablets and other devices running the Android mobile operating system to attain privileged control (known as root access) over various Android subsystems.Rooting is often performed with the goal of overcoming limitations that carriers and hardware manufacturers put on some devices. Thus, rooting gives the ability (or permission) to alter or replace system applications and settings, run specialized applications (apps) that require administrator-level permissions, or perform other operations that are otherwise inaccessible to a normal Android user. On Android, rooting can also facilitate the complete removal and replacement of the device's operating system, usually with a more recent release of its current operating system.Source: Wikipedia

Believe it or not, it could e something as simple as your phone was deactivated. You will still be able to get on internet, just msgs and calls won't work. Just contact carrier and reactivate it. I got a new phone and activated it, but mistakenly thought the auto-refill would still be in effect. It wasn't. ooops.

The same thing happened to me, and I was going crazy trying to get the battery out. I went through the manual and it said to hold the power button for 10 seconds and it will automatically restart. It worked for me, so I hope it works for you if you haven't been able to unfreeze it

My phones camera says it's disabled but, I went under the settings and tried to disable then Enable the application, still nothing. Also (if you don't mind) my phone was given to me by my mother, she told me that it had been dropped in the toilet but still worked. When I got the phone it turned on for a moment until I turned it off so I wouldn't run the battery down when it shut all the way down. I thought maybe it was just a fluke but when I tried to turn it back on it wouldn't, I tried it a few hours later and it turned on but did the same thing. Do you know what I could do to fix it?

OH Boy.....I did all the above and all the above in many forums..got Samsung troubleshoot over a chat factory reset 3 times...safe mode...so the only thing that I could figure out was under settings...security....clear all certificates was greyed out so I could not do that...then under security ..trusted credentials..display all certificates I find about 100 certificates and have to disable each one...then I did the hold volumn button with power button together and get the black screen to restart the phone...after 2 weeks and hours of frustration I felt like I had my first baby..cause my camera and my flash was WORKING! Oh joy and bliss
