Common questions

This message means your Contacts app is syncing with cloud accounts (Google, Mi Cloud) or rebuilding its internal index. Usually it finishes on its own, but sometimes the process gets stuck—especially if you have many contacts or a slow internet connection. Quick Fixes (Try in Order) Restart your phone. This often resolves temporary sync issues. Go to Contacts > Menu (3 dots) > Settings > More > Rebuild Index Data. Wait for the process to complete—this can take 15-20+ minutes depending on how many contacts you have. Check Settings > Accounts and verify that Google and Mi Cloud sync are enabled. Toggle sync off and back on if needed. Go to Settings > Apps > Contacts > Storage > Clear Data, then restart your phone. (Backup your contacts first if possible.) If Issues Persist Ensure your Contacts app has permission to access your contacts and storage. Update both your system software and Contacts app to the latest version. If the problem continues, remove and re-add your Google or Mi Account, or contact Xiaomi support. This issue affects most Redmi and Xiaomi phones running MIUI, not just the Redmi 5S. RetryClaude can make mistakes. Please double-check responses.

2 ways to check your missed call notification and details:1. For missed call Notification: You can check Missed called reminder. It placed in Settings->system apps >> Call settings >>Advanced Settings>> Missed call reminders. If it select No answer, then select 2 times. After doing the same, you can get notification about missed calls.2. For checking missed call no. in phone recent list: Click on Phone icon and go to drop down option which is placed upper the recent contacts. if you don't find drop down option, then drag the screen down by finger. You will get then. Click on drop down and select All Calls, then you will get your all missed call record in your Recent list. Hope it will help you :)

looks like its a issue of proximity Issue. For a while now I too had faced this I am agree with #Carl P the problem related to Proximity Sensor You can solve the problem couple of way which r the following :- 1) first check if the screen guard covering Proximity Sensor if it is try to remove that much part and this sensor locate at top of the right corner. 2)calibrate proximity sensor... dial * # * # MIUI # * # * 3)you can turn it off by Contacts->Settings->Incoming Call Settings->Proximity Sensor-> ON by default, which you need to turn it OFF. If above 3 options not working for u then might issue with your sensor Hope you understand. i already done it with option no.2 and its working..good luck to u guys..

Did the phone restart? If no, then there is only one option - ese fastboot method to flash this rom. If yes, then Restart phone. >first Backup your device . >download MIUI 5 ROM - rename it to update.zip and put it to internal memory (root Directory of sd card) for secure options of falshing. Bcoz sometimes device brick. >download MIUI 6 ROM put it anywhere in sdcard. Do not rename it. > open updater app > tap on options > select update package > choose miui 6 rom zip > tap update > reboot device automatically Now you are on MIUI6. If you get some error during this flashing processing. And device not start . or restart to recovery mode then RECOVERY MOD -select language English by volume button select by power button. -install update.zip which is first i tell to put miui 5 rom ( update.zip ) in sdcard. -wait until it finish. - device restart and you are on MIUI 5 . Make sure that you are put MIUI5 (renamed update.zip ) on your inaternal memory. Bcoz i firstly tell sometimes device brick while falshing .and this is option to recover your device to MIUI 5 . NOTE: Do this at your own risk. Source and other helpful links: Source LinkHelpful Link

Try this: Go to Settings > Apps > under All tab, check all the apps if any have an option 'Move to SD card'.If that doesn't work, search Google Play for Link2SD.

There seem to be two versions of the redmi note 2, one supports FDD-LTE, the other does not. Canada has only FDD-LTE, whereas China uses primarily TDD-LTE. A TDD-LTE phone bought from China will not work in Canada on any carrier that I know of. To check which variant you have, google the model code. Having said that, you should still get GSM and 3G signal, even with a TDD-LTE phone variant. If it doesn't, check your apn settings (settings->more->cellular networks->access point names). You can get the correct values by googling (e.g. Rogers apn settings, Bell apn settings, etc.). Good luck!

The Redmi Note works very well in Canada on the 3G network (850/1900) used by Rogers and Bell. For the 4G LTE network Rogers uses 2100 Mhz also supported by the Redmi Note. Bell 4G LTE network uses 2100 and 2600 Mhz both supported by the Redmi Note. Now the Redmi 2 should work on the 2G and 3G network (Rogers and Bell) but it may not work with Rogers 4G LTE. The Redmi 2 supports LTE band 3(1800), 7(2600), 38(2600), 39(1900), 40(2300), 41(2500)s none used by Rogers but used by Bell.

I have been having the same problem, for the past few days my Xiaomi mi4 sometimes refuses to charge, and since then it sometimes just switches itself off. MY BATTERY USUALLY LAST LONGER THAN 24 HOURS (25 at most) so my battery still has good retention so that can be ruled out.The phone is currently switched off, but its not responding to the charger other than a red flashing light at the bottom but the screen remains blank and it wont switch on.

JoeNamibia · Answered

No I didn't try that but it eventually started to charge, it's just really unreliable now. The battery still drains much faster than it used to (a few days days ago it would last an hour than a day now I have it twice a day) and it sometimes won't charge on top of that. It sometimes will be at a certain percentage (either 0 or 4) for hours and only after constant persistence will it charge properly.

I suggest installing Punjabi font and language in your phone. I think that's why it is not properly displayed on your phone.
