Palm Phone Reviews & Rankings

To answer your questions, I do work for Bell. That is how I know these things. Unfortunately Annapolis, I am not as knowledgeable about the specifics, as these units have not been released in Canada. I would imagine that being Windows-based, they would have the same handwriting input as previous PDAs. However, I will at least try to find out and give you a reply. As for price ranges, I again have no idea on the Palm. The Moto Q based on what is distributed to Bell employees is that the price is listed at $649 regular price subsidized. That is of course, the no contract price. The standard rebates apply on 1/2/3 year terms with savings of 50/150/200 respectively, putting the 3-year term price at $449. Of course there is likely to be some sort of additional savings upon launch, likely to match it up to Telus' pricing.

hey macmoud, not sure when bell is getting these phones, but just thought i should mention that the Q and the palm700 are 2 very different units. The Q is really more of an email device, similar to a Blackberry. I was a HP iPAQ user for many years, and find that the Q, while a great device, is missing alot that many PDA users will notice. I'm happy with it, but keep in mind when using it, that it's a better music/video player & phone as opposed to PDA & phone.Just my 2 cents...Tim pocketGEAR.ca

Hi palmaddict, as far as I know, Bell is only currently releasing the 700w. We probably shouldn't expect too much out of the Canadian wireless providers. You know how they are in releasing all the hot phones and devices about a year after everyone else. Although kudos to Bell as they are releasing about 11 phones/devices in the next couple of months.

The Moto Q is indeed on the way in the next month or so with some software updates over the Telus unit. I have no idea of a Palm 700 launch for Bell in the 3rd quarter.

hey FCdo you work for bell?...how do you know this?anyone know price ranges of the phones when they do come outthx pocketgear for your comments too.

Hi, FC: Is Bell planning on bringing the treo 700p as well, or just the treo 700w?

FC Will thePalm 700 have handwriting input? I'm addicted to screen input with a stylus.

To update, the Palm 700 is launching in Q4. That is the fall.

Hi Melanie. Which phone model is it? You can get a quicker response if you contact your service provider and ask for assistance.

Hi James. Which HP Palm phone model do you need a manual for?

How do I change the language from spanish to english on my Palm centro 690 cell phone

Hi robert. The Palm Pre does not use a SIM card.

Hi Ger. Were you able to open emails before but now it suddenly won't let you? If that's the case, maybe a simple restart of your device will solve the problem. In my case it usually does. But of course I can't say that it will really work but it's worth a try. Let me know what happens. Good luck!

There could be an issue with your phone's software. You can have it checked with an authorized HP service center. Also, check if there's an update available for your phone's software. A software upgrade can possibly solve your problem.

It must be a problem with reception. Look at your phone's signal indicator and see how strong the signal is. Chances are, the carrier you're with has poor signal in your area.

Instructions on how to set up your phone as modem can be found on page 179 of the user manual. You can download manual here in the Cell Phones Etc website from the Palm Pre 2 product page.
