5/10
Informr score
The BlackBerry Curve 9310 currently has an Informr score of 5 out of 10. This score is based on our evaluation of 5 sources including reviews from users and the web's most trusted critics.

RIM’s BlackBerry Curve 9310 is a simple candybar-type CDMA phone that’s built to let users enjoy some of the best messaging features available on any mobile device. Whether you’re a texting junkie or an e-mail buff, you’ll find plenty to love in the BlackBerry Curve 9310.

For starters, it comes with a built-in QWERTY keyboard and optical trackpad combination that should make it easy to navigate the menus and applications in BlackBerry OS 7.1. There should be little to no lag at all in switching between apps given that there’s an 800MHz Qualcomm processor tasked with handling all computing duties. And you should be able to access all kinds of data no matter where you are through a variety of connectivity options such as microUSB, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and even NFC.

Outside of work applications, the BlackBerry Curve 9310 proves to be quite capable as well, what with it having a built-in FM radio, music player, and 3-megapixel camera with LED flash that can capture not only still images but also video. The camera also comes with several special features such as face detection, image stabilization, scene mode, and geo-tagging. And all of the recorded media can of course be viewed on the 2.4-inch 320x240 LCD screen.

The included 1450mAh battery on the BlackBerry Curve 9310 is good for up to 8 hours of talk time or about 3 weeks of standby time. So if you’re interested in using a handy messaging device that won’t have you scrambling to get to a wall outlet several times a day, this one’s worth a look.

The most attractive aspect of the BlackBerry Curve 9310 is its low $49 contract price. But for the same amount, you can get an Android smartphone, such as the LG Lucid, which is capable of a lot more and can run on Verizon’s 4G LTE network. At this point, we don’t see much interest in th...

Though it's certainly no game changer, the Curve 9310 is a reliable device that sticks to what BlackBerry devotees (however few and far between) come to love. Its familiar portrait keyboard, complete with touch-pad navigation, is still easy to use and makes texting a walk in the park. Call quality w...
