Super phone!

I've had my phone since 1996...yes, 15 years! We've drive all over the country and in picks up a signal often when other newer phones do not. Though my husband thinks I'm nuts and I now need to buy batteries online.....I'm not relinquishing this great and super sized model! PJ

An amazing phone

I have had my phone for over 10 years. It has been run over by an excavator twice, left out in -40c weather, dropped countless times and it still works perfectly. I have had other phones over the years but my Audiovox just keeps on going. What a phone they just don't make phones like this anymore.

An "Oldie" but "Goodie" !!

Believe it or not, I have had my AudioVox CDM-9000 since August 2000, that''s nearly FIVE years now. I use it every day and make at least six calls per day. I have Verizon Wireless, actually it was Bell Atlantic Mobile back in 2000 when I first got this AudioVox phone. This CDM-9000 just came into availability only a week before I was at the B.A.M. store, trading in my old, clunky (analog only) Nokia. It was the FIRST CDMA (Tri-Mode) phone offered by B.A.M., in fact most of the towers were not even fully ready for CDMA Tri-Mode. By "today''s" standards this phone is totally obsolete, with it''s simplistic "large candy bar" shape and size, B&W display, NO camera, NO frills.... but THAT IS WHY I LOVE IT !! I''m a Computer Engineer.... I play with "techie stuff" all day long and I''m not a gamer. My cell phone needs are extremely simple.... fits in my extremely large hand, can push the buttons with my big clumsy fingers (or thumb), can actually "see" the display and numbers with weak old and tired eyes, long battery life and most important is the ability to "lock in" weak signals and not lose calls in fringe areas. This CDM-9000 has proven itself time and time again, especially going into it''s six year of service with me. Last week I went to Verizon Wireless to "upgrade" and was totally shocked with the new "junk" being offered. I''m not saying that these NEW small, lightweight flip-phones loaded with games, screen savers and cute ring tones are not nice.... but nice is NOT "rugged" !! I love this oldie but goodie so much, I''ve purchased another one as a "spare" (brand new in box) on eBay for under $25.00. Less
