The battery on my 8450 has finally died after 2 1/2 years. It has been mostly good to me, but I have experienced most of the issues that others have mentioned, especially the easy accidental activation of the web and the occasional freeze-ups. Call quality and coverage has been very good by and large. No frills (camera, Bluetooth), but it has the basics (calendar, alarm clock). Also, the screen is colourful and well-lit and overall use is generally pretty intuitive. It was good in its time, but there are definitely better phones out there now. Less

what the heck .

okay , so i get this phone (audiovox 8450) and i was so happy , but a few days later the charger went in it and it wouldnt charge , PLUS ive had atleast 80$ internet fees because of it turning itself on ! DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE ! the razr is cuter . :)

Eh..I hope there's better out there

I didn't have much selection when I got my free (thankfully) cell phone with our service, which is why I chose this one. I didn't have much selection when I got my free (thankfully) cell phone with our service, which is why I chose this one. I too had problems with the web button and the key guard being unlocked, either just from being in my purse or by the kids (yes, even a 1 year old could figure it out). I eventually wisened up and had that service cancelled. I'm now having a lot of problems with the charger. Today it literally sounded like a blender whirring when I plugged the charger in. Then the screen went grey, shut off after beeping a few times and would repeat. I've had trouble with the charger since almost a year after getting this. After 2 years, it wouldn't hold a good charge. I had to start leaving it off as much as possible. I haven't been able to find any help for my problems. Basically, it does the job. I'm not out for a fancy phone but it would be nice to have one that could hold up to our moderate use (bought mostly for emergencies). Next time, a little more research will go into our cell phone purchase. Less

excellent

I had this phone for 3++ years. I feel sad giving it up in two weeks time. The reason is I'm moving to a different place. I will be getting GSM service. I had a problem with the battery when I first bought it since they replaced it with new one within 10 days it was perfect. The second problem was wit...More

I had a problem with the battery when I first bought it since they replaced it with new one within 10 days it was perfect. The second problem was with AC connection on the circuit board. I had to weld it myself once-the connection broke. Other than this it was my buddy for the last 3 years. p.s: I have to cancel my web service because of the easiness the web button clicks. Less

The only drawback is where the web-browser button is located... it activates itself if you touch against anything but that can be prevented with locking the keypad. Less

That's great fun during movies or in class. Aside from these two annoying habbits, this phone is significantly better than other ones that I've had. The other two phones were Motorola's. I will never buy a Motorola again... and probably not an Audiovox. Less

I''m literally going to burn this phone.

I''ve had all the same issues with the internet browser activating itself, the keyguard coming off on its own, and i dropped it ONCE and now when i talk on it i have to pinch the bottom near the microphone for the person on the other end to hear me. Its ok...

its an ok phone.. i would recommend it for adults who only need a phone to call people & text only once in a while Pros: -its small and fits in my pocket -keys are big enough to text -loud ringer -battery lasts about 5 days with out charging it, if not more (my phone stayed on for like 9 days with out...More
its an ok phone.. i would recommend it for adults who only need a phone to call people & text only once in a while Pros: -its small and fits in my pocket -keys are big enough to text -loud ringer -battery lasts about 5 days with out charging it, if not more (my phone stayed on for like 9 days with out charging it once and i texted and made phone calls too. this phone has an EXCELLENT battery life) -speaker phone is clear and you can actually tell what the person on the other line is saying Cons (they might not be the same with every phone, it might just be my phone company, US Cellular): -you can''t change the background or screensaver with out downloading it -ringers SUCK -scratches easily -it has voice dial, but its impossible to use because to use it you have to go into the menu, then to the voice sync...and so on, its easier just to dial normal -it doesnt vibrate and ring at the same time (only vibrates twice then rings) -it has no games Less
