Sure, the flippable camera is a fun quirk, but it could be genuinely game-changing for front-facing video recording and shooting at otherwise hard-to-reach angles. We just hope the motor system is as robust as Asus assures us it is. Throw in that heavyweight Snapdragon 855 and 5000mAh battery combo,...

The Zenfone 6 is missing a few modern frills like an in-display fingerprint sensor and AMOLED screen, but the Flip camera adds enough X factor to compensate for these omissions. Besides, the uninterrupted and immersive IPS panel seems to be high quality, and many people actually find the capacitive sensors to be more consistent and convenient. The new Zenfone also has excellent performance hardware, a very assuring battery, a premium design, and impressive software.

No, you won't get some niceties such as an in-screen fingerprint scanner, waterproofing, fast-charging or more cameras for greater shooting versatility. But you will get a great flagship phone with some major attractive points. It's got that massive screen with no notch distractions. It's got the most powerful current Qualcomm chipset. It's got a huge battery capacity beyond any other flagship we've ever seen. It's got a clean stock Android software experience - which was entirely unexpected from a brand that's been so far from this in the past. And then there's that unique selling point: the Flip Camera.

Digital Trends

A flagship phone like no other

First impressions are very positive regarding the performance, battery, and software. The screen isn’t as beautiful as some others, due to it being an LCD rather than an AMOLED, and we have some concerns over durability. The flip-over camera is not a gimmick and does come with some interesting features.

That meant a bezelless display that's as big as comfortably possible, the latest internals for smooth performance, a lot of battery, and good cameras. It just so happened the Zenfone 6's development that this was the only right way.
