Alcatel One Touch 871A

Go to http://www.att.com/devicehowto/?make=alcatel&model=871a#fbid=YcaBkk8Zuvw Scroll down and select Calls. Then, select activating speakerphone video when a call comes in. You just press the right soft key to turn the speakerphone ON when you answer an incoming call.

Hi Michelle. During a call, check the screen of your phone if there's an option for speakerphone. If nothing like that comes up, press the left soft key for Options. See if the option for speakerphone is there. Let me know if you're able to do it. Good luck!

well, I had similar problem. Go to recent calls, highlight last call, left click options for that call, go down to call settings, go down to text phone, mode should be off. Done.

At the AT&T store, they said this is the only phone they've ever seen without speaker ability! Is there a speaker I can hook it up to?

Hi rlca_mom. I suggest calling your manufacturer and/or carrier about this issue. I read somewhere that there's an update to fix this issue. Also, I suggest that you use a lanyard or put your phone in a bag for the mean time to avoid automatic dialing.

you have to upgrade the phone ....under settings go to att software upgrade, then check for updates. They issued an upgrade in mid May to stop the pocket dialing

There was an update that fixed the problem. Thank you, Carl and Lisa, for your help. Our local dispatchers are much relieved, too!

1. From the Home screen, enter the area code and phone number 2. If you press an incorrect key, press the Right soft key to delete the incorrect digits. 3. Press the green [ key to make the call.Hope that helps!

how do I make a call????

I some how turned my alcatel 871a phone on silent and cant figure out how to get it off silent

Hmm.. While in homescreen, try pressing volume up key. Let me know if that works.

There's a little white cloud with what looks to be a little red exclamation point on it at the top of the main screen. What does it mean and how do I remove it ??

I'm sorry but I don't think you can.

You can contact Alcatel if you want to get an original battery. But if you're fine with OEMs, you can purchase the battery from eBay (link).

I'm sorry, but did you mean you can only hear the person that calls you when in speaker phone? If yes, I'm afraid your phone has damage. I suggest taking it to the store where you bought it or to a cellphone repair shop and have it checked.
