What's bad

- Performance issues when flicking through homescreens
The Samsung Galaxy TabPRO 8.4 is the smallest of the TabPRO tablets measuring in at 8.4 inches and weighing a light 331 grams for the WiFi only version.
Like the other tablets in this family, the TabPRO 8.4's display offers a resolution of 2560 x 1600. Due to its smaller screen it actually provides a pixel density of 359ppi, which is higher than both of the larger TabPRO models and even exceeds the pixel count of the iPad mini with Retina Display. Experts agree that the increased pixel density makes the display incredibly crisp including V3 who says that the display also offers decent viewing angles and excellent brightness and color balance.
The TabPRO 8.4 includes 2GB of RAM, 2.3GHz quad-core processor for both the WiFi and LTE model and up to 32GB of internal storage expanded to 64GB thanks to a microSD slot. Due to its smaller size, the tablet does come with a smaller 4,800mAh battery; however Samsung touts the battery life as "above average" lasting more than 10 hours. There’s a rear-facing 8MP camera with auto-focus features and a 2MP forward-facing camera for video conferencing.
The TabPRO 8.4 offers the new Magazine UI, a user interface which allows users to fully customize their homescreen with live tiles. It also offers Multi-Window. Unfortunately, most reviewers found this feature not as useful on the smaller screen. In addition, PCPro found that the performance suffered due to the amount of data flowing into the live tiles noting a significant amount of "judder" when flicking between homescreens and some unresponsive tiles. Despite a couple performance issues however, critics were overall impressed by the device's speed.
For the most part, reviewer impressions of the TabPRO 8.4 were generally positive. Infinitely More states that "all in all, it is a decent and powerful device."
What the Critics Are Saying...
- Corentin Bechade, Digital VersusSmaller than the Tab Pro 10.1 and cheaper than the Tab S 8.4, the Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 occupies a very small niche. But then it's typical of Samsung to offer a product for every possible occasion. Fans of this small format will be won over by the Tab Pro 8.4's excellent screen and faultless responsive...

- Eugene Kim, ITProPortalWith its all-screen, thin-and-light design, and fast performance levels, the Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 is easily one of the finest small-screen Android tablets around. The big problem is that it's priced to compete with the iPad mini with Retina, commanding almost 70 per cent more than what Google...
- TechRadar team, TechRadarThe Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 won't be the one grabbing the headlines in the new Tab Pro range, I suspect, but it's arguably the best of the lot.Condensed down to this size, the WQXGA display renders everything in super-sharp detail, while the creakiness of the larger tablets is all but gone with t...
