Portable battery packs are a must-have for travelers, especially if they plan on going to more remote areas of the world. In the past, many of the options were expensive and only offered an additional charge or two. Intocircuit's Power Castle 11200 combats both problems as it is affordable and has a huge battery capacity. How huge? As the name suggests, the Power Castle boasts a battery size of 11,200mAh, enough for critics to get five full recharges into a smartphone and one for tablets. It also has two USB ports for simultaneous charging in case you have more than one device that needs power.

Despite housing such a large battery, it is still very portable measuring 3.9 x 7.1 inches and weighing only 250 grams. While slightly heavier than its competitors, critics didn't notice the additional weight when put in a handbag or rucksack. A brushed aluminum body protects the internal hardware and also gives it what experts call a "tough guy" aesthetic. It isn't just looks though as they add it feels sturdy overall.

The biggest selling point of the Power Castle 11200 isn't its battery though, it's the LED display. It is the first battery pack on the market to use this intelligent LCD display. This screen tells the exact percentage of battery left and which of the two ports are in use. It uses a blue backlight which automatically turns off after a couple seconds though it can be relit by a tap of a button. Experts found the digital display incredibly useful as they knew exactly when to recharge it. In terms of getting the battery back to full capacity, experts note it did take longer than its rivals. Luckily, it also supports passthrough charging, which means you can have your smartphones/tablets plugged into the Power Castle 11200 while it is being charged. Reviewers discovered that the devices plugged into the battery pack would actually charge faster than the pack itself but, as PC Advisor states, "…this is still easier than separately plugging in everything overnight."

Perhaps the one feature that disappointed experts was its torch. While a good idea, the LED light unfortunately was only a few lumens and was not bright enough for reviewers. Travgear adds that it is, "Handy round a tent at night, but it's an extra feature that's not high-grade enough."

Although it might take a long time to charge and falls short in the torch department, critics still highly recommend the Power Castle 11200. XDA-Developers state, "It's fast, reliable, filled with features and pretty good looking."
