Why does the ZTE Compel show there's unread message but there's none?

How do i turn off the notification on my messages that has that little red box or better yet why it says there are unread msgs even though the messages are already deleted.

I have the same problem, and I tried what you suggested. Unfortunately, there is no unread message in the SIM card, and there is still a notification for an unread message when there is none.

Try this: Open Messaging > press menu key (right soft touch key) > Settings > Text Message > Manage SIM card messages

You probably have an unread message in your SIM card.

Let me know if that works.
