That's odd. Are you sure you aren't pertaining to iMessage? Try to disable iMessage.
To disable iMessage, follow this simple steps:
- Open Settings
- Tap Messages
- Tap the slider beside iMessage
- Go back to Settings
- Tap FaceTime
- Tap the slider beside FaceTime
Turn off both then try sending a text message. Let us know how it goes.
