Can I use my consumer cellular phone in New Zealand? I was told by customer service that they can turn on international roaming, but could not give a 100% guarantee that it would work. I was told that I have a T-Mobile SIM card in my phone. Apparently, that is a good thing.
The CC rep told me that even though international roaming would be turned on, there would be a chance that the phone would not work. She said that I might have to buy a local SIM card, an unnecessary expense since I only need to make a few short calls, or send a few texts.
Hi Eric. According to Consumer Cellular website, you can use your phone while in roaming in New Zealand. I'm not quite sure though what they meant by "not give 100% guarantee".
