Every time my son tries to text me it comes up on his end that it's blocked

Hello! I use the same kind of mobile phone model. I agree with Carl. I think there is a possibility that you accidentally blocked using your carrier. I know that the model is a bit puzzling, but it should work just fine, more so if your main purpose is for communication. Hope our answers help!
