Is it normal for a Samsung a740’s display to turn off immediately only after a few seconds?

I have a new Samsung A-740. The external display ( also internal) shuts off after a few seconds. There is nothing in the manual that says it goes black after a few seconds and how to keep it on. I turned off the conserve power feature but the external display still goes black after a few seconds. Is this normal for this phone or is there a way to keep it on ?

You must get a USB data cable (http://www.uxcell.com/samsung-c-980_1558_1222.html),so just transfer the music from ur PC to 740 via the USB data cable. That'sal right!

Well, you just select the entry you want to delete, it will ask for confirmation once or twice then hit yes and bingo, it's gone

I also have an A-740. How does one delete a contact or phone number that is already in memory?

Thanks, Ian

Hi there, actually the screen going blank is how the phone works. Same deal the with 680 (except when it goes off, you have the cool mirror to play with). On the 740, it's desgined to do that, although you can control how long the display remains lit before it shuts of (anywhere from 8-30 seconds). The reason it shuts off is because it saves battery power....if it was on all the time, your battery life would go much quicker. When ever you do need to check the time r whatever, just hit the volume key on the side of the phone and it lights up! Problem solved.
