Why isn't there a message symbol on the Huawei Ascend Y330?
no message symbol on the start screen and mention of sms or messages anywhere on the phone in settings or anywhere help please

Hmm.. I'm thinking that it may be an issue with the text messaging app you are using. Try installing a 3rd party text messaging app and see if it works properly.
