Update....I did a factory reset and everything seems to be working properly now. I don't know what the problem was but I hope it doesn't come back. Thank You for you suggestions and help.

Hmm.. Actually, I say you take it back ASAP and ask for replacement. That's a defective device.

Hmm... I'm wondering, maybe one of the keys is stuck or something is touching your screen or it maybe damaged. Try using a screen tester. Let me know if any of those works.

Noticed that my camera won't work now too. I think the phone. I don't expect everything I buy to work perfectly. I always figure to hope for the best but to accept that sometimes things don't work as advertised or planned. You can buy a new car these days without the possiblty of it being recalled. It's just life. I just wish I could find a way to fix my phone and make sure it doesn't happen again. But I also know I may never know why it happened in the first place. Sending it back just doesn't seem like something I want to do.

I've deleted a bunch of apps and stopped or disabled many others. Nothing seems to work. I've had many of my friends with much more knowledge then me look at it and no one can get it to sleep. I've done every trick except a factory reset and I probibly will do that over the weekend if no solution is found. If even that doesn't work I will probibly return it. I have photos on it now too and I can seem to be able to move them over to my installed memory card. I'll have to email them to myself to save them. Too much work for the day job. That's why the weekend I will make the drastic move of a system factory reset. P,ease if you have further suggestions I would happily appreciate it. I appreciate the help you've already offered me. Hmmm.. Sounds like one of the apps installed in your phone makes it wake. What's the last app you installed before that started happening?

My Alcatel A564C will not sleep when not in use and remains on. How can I get it to sleep when not in use?
When my phone isn't being used it remains lite and on and won't dime or sleep. What an I do? I've already attempted to set it to sleep after 1 and 2 minutes. I've restarted it and pulled the battery and yet it still remains on. I've read everything I could find online and can't find any information on this problem. FYI...It only started doing this. It was working fine and then it just wouldn't go off. It's of course possible it was something I did but I feel I've checked everything. But other then having a defective phone I'm hoping you can help me. Thank You!!
