Can you buy a V400 directly from Motorola and have it activated with the Rogers network?

hey all,

I'm new at this, so bear with me...

I was thinking of buying a v400 directly off Motorola, factory brand new. What would I have to do/buy to get it to work through Rogers' pay-as-you-go?

I know that the v400 currently is a FIDO phone, but with the takeover... would it work with Rogers?

thanks!

ROGERS WIRELESS IS FETCHING FIDO (MICROCELL TELECOMMUNICATIONS) FOR 35/SHARE AND RETAINING THE FIDO BRAND.

YOU WILL HAVE NO PROBLEM USING EITHER FIDO/ROGERS WIRLEESS.

IF YOU BUY DIRECTLY FROM MOTOROLA YOU WILL BE BUYING A LOCKED VERSION - WHY NOT SHOP AROUND FOR AN UNLOCKED VERSION OF THE V400 AND YOU WILL SAVE A FEW DOLLARS. THERE ARE EXCELLENT ONLINE RETAILERS WHO SELL UNLOCKED GSM HANDSETS AND WE ARE ONE OF MANY ONLINE RETAILERS IN CANADA.

IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, PLEASE CALL US AT 877-578-7355 OR CHECK OUR OUR LISINGS IN THE PHONES FOR SALE THREAD.

first off...its a merger..not a take over..:D

kk.. you are able to use it but you'll still have to unlock the phone before you can swap carriers.. unlocking..depending on where you go.. it can be dirt cheap...or expensive...it kinda give syou the quality it'll be done in too... you lose ur warrenty obviously..how long will it last after that is ur question..
