I had the same problem after dropping it once too many times. I disassembled it by carefully prying and lifting the cover plates and removing screws. The problem was in the flip top. I had to a small bladed screwdriver and unstick the cover on the flip top where Kyocera is written. Then take out all the screws. and remove cover plate, again by prying. I them pulled out and reconnected the plug on the thin film connectors.   

The Kyocera DuraXE is supposed to be a rugged phone and should be able to handle drops. But nothings impossible so maybe it did get broken after the fall. Contact Kyocera to find out how you can get your phone repaired.
