Insert punctuation in a text on an Alcatel one touch?

I'm writing a text. I want to insert punctuation. I can only find the full stop (period). Help!

Hi Josephine. Which Alcatel phone are you using? If it's one with a physical keyboard, press the * key to enter symbols (comma, period, etc.).
