How to delete contacts on the Apple iPhone 4?

I just took over my sons I phone 4 . it stills has his contacts in it . how do i delete them and still keep the app.s that are on the phone?

Hi Rick. To delete contact on the Apple iPhone 4 just follow these easy steps:

1. Tap the green “Phone” icon on the bottom of the iPhone home screen.
2. Tap the “Contacts” icon. This icon is a head and shoulder silhouette.
3. Select the contact you want to delete from the list.
4. Tap “Edit.”
5. Scroll down the list of editing options and select “Delete” to remove the contact.
