Does Freedom really believe it's worth going to court just so they do not have to send a "hard copy" of a closed account?

All outstanding funds were paid off in full and actually rec'd. an email confirming 'nothing outstanding remaining' but mortgage company will not accept an email siting it could have been altered.  Asked Freedom to send a 'hard copy' but they refused stating they do not send hard copies.  My lawyer suggests I threaten them with a law suit.  I could lose my deposit, down payment, lawyers fees, etc., without a hard copy.

Hi Jesseppi. That's a lot of work for a hard copy. I'm sorry I'm not familiar with Canadian laws but have you asked the mortgage company if simply printing the email is acceptable? If you still have access to your Freedom Mobile self service account, maybe you can get a copy there?
