Yes, you can access the Internet through Wi-Fi without the need of getting a data plan.
To connect to Wi-Fi with the Samsung Galaxy Ace:
- Activate the WLAN feature
In Idle mode, open the application list and select
Settings → Wireless and networks → Wi-Fi settings → Wi-Fi.
- Find and connect to a WLAN
1. In Idle mode, open the application list and select Settings → Wireless and networks → Wi-Fi settings. The device will automatically search for available WLANs.
2. Select a network under Wi-Fi networks.
3. Enter a password for the network (if necessary).
4. Select Connect.
