Why does the Samsung Behold 2 say I don't have calendar?

When I try to enter an appointment on my Samsung Behold II cell phone a window pops up and says I have no calendar even though I have the widget. How do I fix this?

That's odd. Are you trying to enter an appointment from the calendar app itself or not?
