A no-brainer for travelers

from WordsByNowak (about 1 year ago)

Putting the speed and price together, Roam’s service had an interesting psychological effect on me. I’ve simply never had the luxury of a whopping nine GB of mobile data before. The more that sank in, the more I let myself go and the more I used my phone. It wasn’t long before I st... More

Their service is worth checking out

from iPhone in Canada (2 years ago)

After travelling in the US with Roam Mobility I can definitely say that their service is worth checking out. No matter how long you’ll be in the US or where you go while you’re there, you’ll be able to keep yourself connected without having to overpay for roaming packages from the... More

Look hard for other providers.

do not buy any of their hot spots. If you can not put their sim card directly into your IPAD don't even get their data service. I purchased on of their Hot Spot devices and didn't work from day one. so I put the Hot Spot sim card into my IPAD AIR and worked most of the time. It is terrible. I... More

Poor reception and worse customer service

When I travelled to the states for two months in late 2014, I first checked the coverage maps that indicated I would receive good connectivity. In reality, I was connected only a fraction of the time and was left without service when I needed it most. When I complained, an agent assured me that I wo... More

No Service, No Support.

I've used them before and it worked reasonable well but last week I took a 3 day trip to Buffalo NY with a Roam Mobility iPhone SIM and iPad SIM. The iPhone worked with reasonable signal strength, Text worked, Data never worked except for about one hour on each device total. The carrier Icon said... More

If you need reliable data, do NOT buy.

Used Roam with great success in Georgia, Tennessee, and North Carolina, but the next time I used it, I could not even get data coverage in Chicago and Miami, plus most of Florida. Was told the "system was overloaded" by a very nice but unhelpful customer service agent and she read some pre-written... More

Let card expire found a better method...

Useless in the northern states, from Chicago to Spokane

First time user VERY satisfied

Service works exactly like described the 3G is good, not as fast as the LTE in BC. This will save a lot of money and give me a reasonable amount of data to download email and check maps. Maps loaded fine. Have recommended this service to friends. I like how you can simply purchase one day if neede... More

Works well

Used Roam Mobility while down in Las Vegas a couple of weeks ago and didn't have an issue. Was on a connecting flight to Dallas first and had good overall coverage there. While in Vegas I had consistent 3G coverage (on an old unlocked Galaxy S Vibrant I had lying around) the whole time I was there.... More

Never again, don't buy.

Coverage is not as posted. Very poor while my wife with At&T was perfectly correct. Data don't work with a Canadian Iphone 4S?! I went to many east coast area, and this was the same everywhere. I called the customer service and they just offer me a credit for next time (?!) Since I won't buy it agai... More

Cheap plan=extremely poor data service. Struggled to load simple text web pages...forget using google maps...could not watch video at all (would timeout before being able to begin loading). This occurred in Seattle and surrounding suburbs. Their contract with T-Mobile guarantees frustration and acco... More

Great idea. Horrible execution.

Roam piggy backs on to T-Mobile's network, which is notorious as one of the worst in the US. You can generally expect no service or a weak EDGE signal unless you are in the downtown core of a major city. Even in urban areas, you'll often be pushed off of 3G and back on to EDGE. I purchased a data... More
