This is a tremendously powerful, intuitive and functional smartphone. Forget that it’s Android for a moment. Look at it from a user experience perspective: this is one of few smartphones that you can just pick up and use without having to fiddle with settings, widgets and apps.

Want your web content and mobile videos to be on the large and sharp side? If so, look no further than the HTC One X smartphone. It's got a large 4.7" multi touch screen with support for high-definition (720p) resolution and it looks great.

What about the sound? Well, the onboard Beats Audio provides a rich and authentic sound experience due to its advanced software equalizer with a preset optimized for higher quality sound output. Unfortunately, Beats Audio compatible headphones are not provided with the kit. The phone also comes with a standard-sized stereo audio jack (3.5mm) and a loud-speaker.

A powerful 1.5 Ghz Quad-core supplies the processing (available with global edition) and the 1 GB RAM is enough for most applications. There is 32 GB of on-board (non-removable) storage.

The main camera has a 8 megapixel resolution and you can record high definition videos thanks to 1080p HD video recording capabilities. The front camera is a 1 megapixel camera and should work well for high quality video chatting. Other notable video features include the ability to capture a photo while the phone is recording a video, a separate video recording button to start recording video instantly and a slow motion video recording mode for those aspiring short film makers. And, when you are ready to show off your film, you can connect your phone to Hi-def displays using an HDMI connector.

The One X has a number of fancy sensors. There is an ambient light sensor that can adjust the screen brightness according to the exposure of direct light on the screen. There is a proximity sensor that turns off the touchscreen if your ear is too close to the display. There is a gyro sensor which can sense the tilt of the phone in your hand and tilt the display accordingly. And, there is even a digital compass to aid with navigation.

Need to Know: HTC One X

1. Large screen and 720p HD display (The Good)

2. Rich video capture modes and various sensors (The Good)

3. Non-expandable memory, no micro SD slot (The Bad)

4. Large screen and heavy-duty processor reduces battery life (The Bad)

Basically the same awesome phone as it's predecessor

from Gizmodo (2 years ago)

As promised, this phone is fast. Apps snap open, games whiz by with zero labor. Jellybean's impressive Project Butter turns scrolling through lists and screens into some sort of expressionist art: It's hypnotically smooth. It looks like the original X's heat issue has been solved by a faster process... More

An amazing piece of kit

from Daily Mobile (2 years ago)

The HTC One X is fast responsive phone, with a great screen, good build quality, running ICS, (upgradable to Jelly Bean) great call quality, all packed into a sexy sleek body. With a run of the mill camera, and new take on buttons that are confusing to me and will take some time getting use to. Bein... More

Phenomenal camera, beautiful display

from Complex (3 years ago)

An incredibly sharp display, strong 4G connectivity, and a blindingly fast processor is enough to make us overlook the overheating issue which, it must be said, is being worked on: A recent OTA update is said to resolve the problem. By our measure the One X takes top honors as AT&T's best Androi... More

Beautiful, powerful phone with a fantastic camera

from Wired (3 years ago)

A beautiful, powerful phone. Fantastic camera. One of the best displays on the market. AT&T’s network is fast in 4G or 3G speeds. Sense 4 isn’t as good as stock Android 4, but it’s the best alternative out there. HTC’s signature protruding camera lens will get scuffed and scratched over the life of... More

Superb build quality, no microSD card slot, non-user-accessible battery

from GSMArena (3 years ago)

The AT&T version of the HTC One X has plenty going for it. The smartphone is just as beautiful and well put together as its global sibling, yet still manages to outperform it on almost every occasion. Comparisons aside, the Sense UI 4.0 offers top-notch user experience and the camera is a joy to use... More

Great screen, excellent overall performance, great sound, and excellent camera

from Brighthand (3 years ago)

There's a lot to love about the HTC One X, and hardly anything to hate (except perhaps the battery meter and the dirt-grabbing back cover). The device is a good size and comfortable to hold, with excellent performance and a lightning fast web browser that is particularly great thanks to the automati... More

A great smartphone for users looking for a simple operating system, a stylish phone and excellent battery life

from Mobile Syrup (3 years ago)

The Lumia 900 is Windows Phone’s first really important “hero” device in North America. Its little brother, the Lumia 800, was never launched in the United States, so a lot is riding on the 900′s AT&T release. But TELUS was kind enough to release the 800 earlier this year to great acclaim, and the R... More

Greatly enhanced camera experience, faster performance, and longer battery life

from Android and Me (3 years ago)

I love this phone, and I don’t say that often. It would have received a perfect score if HTC went with expandable storage and a user-replaceable battery, but we understand why those trade-offs were made. Other than those two issues, it’s hard to find much to gripe about. Most Android ph... More

Slick physical design, excellent display and solid audio quality

from SlashGear (3 years ago)

We fell hard for the European HTC One X, and with the addition of LTE the AT&T version is even stronger. The slick physical design, excellent display – visible indoors and out, even when wearing polarized sunglasses – and solid audio quality, when paired with 4G data speeds, add up to a fantastic sm... Beautiful design, great display with speedy and easy to use camera and a fast processor

from MobileBurn (3 years ago)

Nothing is sweeter that pulling a victory out of what seemed doomed to be a defeat. That's what the HTC One X on AT&T is. We expected to miss the quad-core processor of the European version and instead have found that we're glad to have ended up without it. Not that the NVIDIA Tegra 3 is a bad proce... More
