What's good
- Eye-catching design
- Large touchscreen display

What's bad
- Low screen resolution
- Limited amount of RAM
- Limited amount of on-board storage space
- Runs dated version of Android
What is the Acer Liquid Z5? According to Andrew Williams of Trusted Reviews, it’s an “affordable phone with a big screen.” And just how big is it exactly? It uses a 5-inch display with a screen resolution of 854x480 pixels, so it’s pretty big for most people.
Looks-wise, it's not half bad. Jamie Rigg from Engadget says that while its not revolutionary in design, "at 8.8mm thick with a plastic unibody, it's not horribly unattractive.”
The phone falls in the budget category, a fact made obvious by the rather modest hardware specs. Its main features include a dual-core processor running at 1.3GHz, a rather paltry 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage and a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash.
One other interesting hardware feature worth mention is the Rapid button, located at the back, which can be used to issue simple commands like unlocking the screen with a single press.
Its software, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, is now a somewhat dated version of the Android operating system.
So what's the verdict?
As Carly Page from The Inquirer says, "its low resolution screen and lack of standout features means that its unlikely to convince buyers." In a world where other phone makers are releasing similarly-priced models with overall better features, Acer's Z5 clearly has its work cut out for it.
