Hungry for more details on the upcoming Nokia 5530 XpressMusic phone? Well, it seems that the UK will be the first country to get a hold of Nokia’s next touchscreen phone. Word is that it will be exclusively available to Carphone Warehouse beginning August 11th for the first six weeks, and will become available through other retailers thereafter. As a quick refresher, the 5530 XpressMusic is considered as the more affordable and toned down version of the 5800 XpressMusic. It features a 2.9-inch 360×640 touchscreen display, 3.2-megapixel camera, quad-band GSM, WiFi, and runs on the Symbian S60 5th Edition platform. It will retail for £130 on Pay As You Go. That’s just roughly $220 in US currency which, I must say, is quite a tempting price for a touchscreen phone.
No word though on when it will hit other European countries or cross the Atlantic for a North American debut. It has, however, been rumored to be dropping in September which is in line with its announced Q3 release, but this still has to be confirmed. We’ll probably get more info once it’s officially released in the UK next week.
