It’s no secret that Telus will be switching to a GSM/HSPA network soon, and we’re now seeing the first signs of their progress courtesy of their budget-friendly brand Koodo Mobile.

According to Howard Chui, Koodo Mobile’s activation page now sports a SIM card diagram to help users locate their IMEI number. Primarily being a CDMA network, Koodo mobile phones don’t necessarily use SIM cards so the appearance of this new guide is a sure indication of where they’re heading to. Unfortunately, while this latest development does confirm that Koodo Mobile is indeed part of Telus’ grand plan to move to an HSPA network, it does very little at helping us figure out what their future GSM handsets will be.

Rumor has it that the LG Chocolate BL40 and iPhone 3G S will be released under the HSPA-capable Telus network later this year, but we highly doubt these two handsets will be showcased under the Koodo Mobile brand. Nonetheless, with a nationwide roll out scheduled in October, we’ll probably know soon enough what Koodo Mobile's new mobile phone collection will look like.
