IPdrum, a VOIP solutions provider, is now offering IPdrum Mobile Skype Cable which allows you to make international calls over your cell phone for local rates using Skype.
There isn’t a lot of information about this new hardware solution from IPdrum, but it would seem from the pictures that you connect one cell phone to your PC or laptop using the IPdrum Cable. Next, using your second cell phone (or landline I would add), you call your computer connected phone, then presumeably you input the phone number you’re trying to reach and WHAMO! International calls cost you local prices. Pure brilliance!
What’s even more brilliant is that calls to your computer using Skype can be forwarded to your cell phone. Plus you’ll be able to synchronize your cell phone’s contact list and the Skype contact list and vise versa.
As a frequent international traveller, I’m as giddy as a schoolgirl to see how I can slash my international calls while also being able to be contacted anytime of day.
