NTT DoCoMo, Inc. and its eight regional subsidiaries announced today that they will start selling the F901iC 3G FOMA® handset, the latest model in the 901i series, nationwide on December 24, 2004. This is not the sexiest of the new FOMA phones, but its screen colors, sound, video capability, security features, and gaming capacity are sweet.
The 901i series offers surround-type SD sound for vivid ringing melodies and realistic audio effects when playing handset games or using other applications. The F901iC is equipped with FeliCa smart-card technology for e-money, ticketing and other handy mobile functions. If the handset is lost or misplaced, its smart-card functions or all phone functions can be locked remotely by calling the handset from a registered phone number. Malicious use can also be prevented with the use of either an ID number or the handset’s fingerprint sensor.
F901iC Features
Video recording at speeds up to 30 frames/second. QVGA video can be recorded or played back with TV-like quality.
Sub LCD shows ChakuMotion™ (video clips for incoming calls) and improved music player operation (fast reverse/forward, continuous play, etc. when handset is closed).
Privacy mode for call logs, i-motion™, images and scheduler (new), as well as address book, mail and i-appli (as before).
With the phone placed in the USB-equipped battery charger’s cradle, images can be transferred to a PC using the phone’s bundled data-link software and cable.
Software to create PC photo albums, edit and print photos, and create wallpaper and slideshows

Unfortunately, you can’t buy any of these phones unless you’re in the Land of the Rising Sun. FOMA is the DoCoMo (Japanese mobile provider) moniker for their high speed 1x network services. FOMA is a CDMA network so there’s no way that it’ll work on the Fido/Roger’s (or any GSM) network. There are a handful of handsets for this ultra speedy network.
As a frequent traveller to Japan I have an ‘au’ handset that runs on their competing network, called WIN. I get 2.4 Mbps download speeds. That translates to about 250 KBps download speeds. It’s as fast as most people’s ADSL speeds.
i have i docomo celphone, but i dont how to use it. it seems that there is no place for sim, and it can’t be
