After a flurry of leaks, the BlackBerry Tour 9630 is now official. It’s expected to be release by Verizon and Sprint in the US with Bell and Telus the likely candidates to offer it up in Canada.
As far as its specs are concerned, there’s nothing exceptionally new announced in the press release that we don’t already know about thanks to the leaked promotional material of Bell and the product guide. We now get a clearer picture of its battery life as its 1400 mAh battery is now rated to provide up to 5 hours talk time and a standby time of up to 14 days. Meanwhile, it was disclosed that it can support microSD cards of up to 32GB capacity. This will come in handy especially since it only has 256MB internal flash memory.It will also apparently come installed with DataViz’s Documents to Go app as part of the package.
Sprint has already announced that it will retail for $199 after a $100 mail-in rebate on a 2-yr contract. Other carriers have yet to announce their pricing for the BlackBerry Tour 9630, but for what its worth, at least we now have an idea of how much it’ll probably cost thanks to Sprint.
