This isn’t the first we’ve heard Sony Ericsson use the term GreenHeart. However, this is the first time we’re hearing them announce two devices that will soon be available in the market under their new environmental-friendly line.

The Naite, the one to the right, features a 2.2-inch QVGA display, 2-megapixel camera, quad-band EDGE, 2100MHz HSPA connectivity as well as a North American version with tri-band 3G, and 100MB internal memory expandable via microSD card. It’s a good mid-level phone, but the C901 is definitely the one worth getting between the two. It packs a 5-megapixel camera with Xenon flash, and support for 900/2100Mhz HSPA bands. Being also part of the Cyber-shot family, you know that the C901 GreenHeart won’t be a slouch in the imaging department. In addition to that, the C901 will also come with the MH300 GreenHeart headset which is 100% made from recycled plastics and far exceeds the legal environmental requirements.

Apart from their mobile phone features, both GreenHeart devices are made from recycled plastic, colored with waterborne paint, and will ship in eco-friendly packaging. They’ll also come bundled with the EP900 GreenHeart low-power charger which boasts of reducing carbon-dioxide footprint by as much as 15% through out the lifespan of the phone. The C901 will debut sometime in Q2 while the Naite will follow in Q3 with a yet to be determined price. Sony Ericsson might be going through some rough stretches as of late, but despite this, it’s nice to know that they’re not abandoning their commitment in helping protect the environment.
