A report by the Yankee group earlier this week pegged the mobile pornography industry (porn on your cell phone) at $1 billion a year in spending by 2008.
“Adult entertainment” is one Internet service that makes money hand over fist and your cellular service provider hopes that wireless porn will have a similar fate. But will mobile porn succeed? Canadian and American cellular providers have been particularly slow at offering such services for fear of the content ending up in the wrong, youthful hands.
What about the technological barriers? Can one really take pleasure in an 80×80 sex act? Gina Lynn with Wired thinks not. Gina says “Cell phones are interactive and interpersonal. They aren’t entertainment boxes waiting to receive content to display to a passive user. Until the mobile-content industry finds a way to incorporate personal communication into its porn — perhaps with multiplayer sex games or seamless cybersex — I don’t see us spending a billion dollars on phone porn.”
A valid argument indeed. But mobile porn already makes up half of all wireless data traffic outside of the US (Yankee). Most carriers have overpaid for spectrum and have loads of data traffic unsold. I don’t usually put much faith in “studies” and “reports”, but this time around I think Yankee is right. Mobile porn is getting big!

Were Can i Find This Mobile Porn
As I’ve posted before, porn on phones in Japan is huge! I usually get 30 porn emails a day while in Tokyo. Each email is text-based and intended to lead one to a website for micro-devices.
Ok, I’ll admit it. I tried to visit one awhile back (strictly for research purposes), but could for the life of me get anything more than titilating text. I’m a visual person so I quickly cut my loses and cut my connection to the site.
I’ve since talked to a few of my Japanese friends and they’re just as irritated with the daily durge of porn spam. They won’t admit to visiting any of the sites, but I don’t believe a few of the guys.
My verdict: mobile porn will be not be like that of the internet’s. It will serve those interested in more personalized erotic experiences like prostitution, stories, and anonymous sex chat.
That’s my 2 yen’s worth.
I can tell you on behalf of me and my buddies, If there was a good site that was not all txt based and had good pics to be downloaded it would make tons of cash. We have looked, And can not find a single decent cell based porn site. If you can find one email me. undeadking787@hotmail.com
