Amidst the curbed spending of consumers, there’s nothing like a set of affordable handsets to entice people to start spending their hard-earned cash on a brand new mobile phone. That’s exactly what Nokia is doing with their latest offerings.

The Nokia 2720 is a basic clamshell phone with a mirrored finish as an accent. It is scheduled to ship in Q3 and will retail for just €55 or roughly $74 USD. The Nokia 7020 is another clamshell phone that also features a stardust effect when you receive a call or message as well as a 2-megapixel camera. It also comes with a unique feature that allows you to light up its cover by simply tapping it twice. The Nokia 7020 is slated to debut in Q4 at a slightly more expensive price of €90 ($122). Last, but certainly not the least, the Nokia 2730 Classic is expected to be the company’s most affordable 3G-capable phone. This candybar phone is scheduled to begin shipping in Q3 for just €80 ($108). All three phones are internet-ready and come equipped services such as Ovi Mail and Nokia Life Tools. With the mindset of providing quality devices for those on a limited budget, this approach by Nokia might be their saving grace in these financially challenging times. Their high-end products aren't certainly getting the job done as far as sales are concerned. So, Nokia's banking on these entry-level phones to help them stay afloat and retain their #1 position in the industry.
