We’re still not certain as to when the Palm Pre will become available for retail on Sprint, but this latest bit of news confirms that it will indeed become available on Best Buy as well.

Based on what was reported, Best Buy is apparently stoking up as many as 4,500 Palm Pre phones in anticipation of its release on June 7. We’ve previously reported that Sprint might release the Palm Pre on May 17th, but if they fail to receive enough units by that date, they’ll be releasing it on June 29th. It's not surprising if Best Buy sells the Palm Pre on June 7th after Sprint has releases it on May 17, but if Sprint, which has been named as the US exclusive carrier for the Pre, postpones its release to June 29, we’re a bit skeptical on the possibility that Best Buy will sell theirs ahead of the US mobile carrier.

We also hear the Best Buy will sell the Palm Pre for $199.99 on a 2-yr contract, $299.99 for those who wish to upgrade handsets, and a whopping $999.99 for contract-free units. As much as we are skeptical of its June 7th release, we also doubt this rumored pricing of Best Buy for the Palm Pre.

Anyway, May 17th isn’t that far away so let’s just hope Sprint does unleash the Palm Pre on this date so will finally find out how much will it exactly cost.
