Nokia has been untouchable as far as their leadership in the mobile phone industry is concerned, but their latest venture into other forms of businesses hasn’t exactly been as successful as they have hoped it would be.

In particular, their Comes-with-Music service has apparently only been to snag roughly 23,000 subscribers in a span of almost a 7 month period. That’s quite a small turn out for a little over a year of existence. This was disclosed by Music Ally at an Association of Independent Music conference held in London as reported by the BBC. Nokia refused to confirm the figures, but Tim Grimsditch, Nokia’s head of product marketing division, had this to say:
It’s a very new business model, we’re live in five markets and the numbers only mention one. We’re going to continue to develop the model and fine tune how we market it.
Be that as it may, the low subscriber turn out isn’t good for business and is far from being encouraging to say the least. Hopefully, they’re doing better in other markets or else we might see the early demise of Nokia’s music service.
