Announced release dates aren’t always accurate, but whenever the release is made earlier than what was announced, we’re certainly not one to complain. Such is the case with Windows Mobile 6.5. Expected to be released a little later this year, it has now been announced to be dropping on May 11th, the first day of the Tech Ed conference. Considering what was demoed at the MWC was just an alpha version, we’re expecting a more polished version to be unveiled next month. Likewise, with this latest development, the first batch of Windows Mobile 6.5-powered devices could hit the market a lot earlier than what was previously reported.
This is certainly good news folks. Let’s just keep our fingers crossed and hope that nothing untoward happens between now and May 11th that will sidetrack Windows Mobile 6.5’s early release.
