Apple requesting 4M new iPhones for delivery by end of Q2?

02-19-09applflashNew iPhone rumors are certainly popping up left and right once again as we get closer to the supposed June launch date. The latest on the rumor mill is that Apple has placed an order for 4 million new iPhones to be delivered before the 2nd quarter comes to a close. This is according to a China Times report which mentions a new EDGE model as well as 3G version and China-only model possibly running on TD-SCDMA. Now, we’re not quite sure about a China-only variant, but the EDGE only version sure ties in nicely with prior rumors that a cheaper non-3G variant could be released by Apple.

Anyway, we’ll take this one with a grain of salt until we hear more news. For now, we can all just wait patiently for June to roll around and see what Apple really has up their sleeves regarding their new iPhone.
